Featuring the inaugural performance of My Three Dads...
Local Juno-nominated country singer/songwriter Don Amero joins forces with Simon and John from The Janzen Boys. Add to that True North's own Mark Chipman on drums and you have three dads and teenager making music that ain't no dad joke. Roots, country, harmonies, some catchy originals and a few of your favourite covers from a throw-together musical family who wants everyone in on their singalong.
With the release of his 2018 album, EVOLUTION, Don Amero stepped into the country music genre with brand new material that he considers his strongest yet. Don is an engaging storyteller, songwriter and performer who has been touring across Canada for over 10 years. With 7 albums to his name, he has already garnered numerous national and international awards, including a JUNO nomination in 2013 and two more in 2016.
The Janzen Boys
The Janzen Boys are a family trio from Winnipeg consisting of 17-year-old Simon on bass, 13-year-old Mick on mandolin, and their dad, John, on guitar. Their songs are strong, and their harmonies are out of this world. Couple all that with the sheer joy of watching a dad and his sons having so much fun on stage together and you’ve got an act that could be playing big festival stages in no time.
